JSC Chemical-Metallurgical Plant Participates in Conference on Recycling of Lithium-Ion Batteries
Representatives of JSC Chemical-Metallurgical Plant (CMP) attended the conference Electromobility 2.0: Economics and Future Technologies for Battery Second Life, held in Moscow in July 2025. The event brought together industry experts.
Key discussion topics included:
- Launch of first gigafactories in Russia: supply of lithium-ion batteries for up to 100,000 electric vehicles per year;
- Local collection and recycling: battery labeling, regulatory frameworks, and recycling technologies;
- Legal initiatives – federal standards for black mass (recycling byproduct) and measures to support domestic recyclers.
Lithium-ion battery recycling market in Russia is still at its early stages. Participation in the conference allowed CMP to explore opportunities for growth in this field. The company is evaluating promising projects related to battery recycling.
"We have been analyzing opportunities for CMP to step into more advanced stages of lithium-ion battery production—from cathode and anode materials manufacturing to the recycling of used batteries," said Deputy General Director Valeria Arkhipova.
