CMP management and corporate strategy compromise Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principals.

CMP management and corporate strategy compromise Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principals. The concept of sustainable development assumes conscious work of the company, including comfortable working conditions for employees, friendly atmosphere at the corporate level, limiting the impact of human activity on the environment. Thanks to CMP certification program CMP demonstrates high quality level of exported products and its friendly environmental approach.

In accordance with the new requests to LiOH from end-users of the battery industry, CMP conducted assessment of the life cycle of lithium hydroxide production at its plant.

The evaluation was carried out by AFRY Finland Oy as a comprehensive study (production of raw materials, transportation to the factory, production of the final product and its packaging).

The competitive advantage of CMP is the use of hydropower for the production of lithium hydroxide. The analysis of the LCA report was carried out by experts from the Öko-Institut E.V. in accordance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards.

As a result, Global Warming Potential for production of hydrated lithium hydroxide at CMP is estimated as 6 110 kg CO2-eqv. per ton of finished product, which is one of the lowest in the industry.

To reduce further Product Carbon Footprint CMP is actively investing in modernization of plant equipment to improve energy efficiency and control under the production process.
